Bird Cards Include:
  • Access to a 3000-acre private ranch. Fields ranging from 30 – 100 acres of Alfalfa, Sudan, and Bermuda grasses provide outstanding cover for pheasant and chukar. We also have miles of covered ditches for those elusive pheasant and flushing dogs.
  • We offer bird processing – $5 per bird.
  • Lunch is available. Camping and clay target shooting. Lead is legal.
  • Non-shooters are invited to join the hunt – No charge.

Pheasant must be released by March 31st and Chukar must be released by May 1st. No birds are carried over to the next season.

Each Hunter must have a minimum of 5 birds released every hunting day and deducted from their bird cards. We can release as many birds as you’d like which will be deducted from your bird cards.

Requirements:
Hunting License w/ upland bird stamp, orange hat or vest.
Steel or Nontoxic shot is #5, #6, or #7. Skeet or improved cylinder chokes are recommended.

Bird processing is $5 per bird packaged on ice.  Pro Dog Handler $200/half day for 1 to 2 hunters; additional hunters are charged $75each. Tips are greatly appreciated.

Do I need a California hunting license?
Yes, you will need a current California Hunting License with an Upland Bird Stamp.
What's required for me to hunt?
  • A California Hunting License with an Upland Bird Stamp
  • Blaze orange hat, vest, or shirt are required for pheasant and chukar hunts*
  • Gun, ammo steel shot
  • Phone​ or email reservations
  • No Low Bird Shooting!

*Blaze orange not needed for dove and turkey hunts

What do you recommend that I bring with me?
  • Shotgun sizes 12 or 20 gauge / skeet or improved cylinder
  • Shot size #5, #6, or #7 Steel or Non-toxic shot only
  • Shooting glasses
  • Lightweight hunting boots
  • Sun block and hat
  • Ice chest
Can I bring my own dog? What if I don't have a gundog of my own?

You are welcome to bring your own gundogs to our club. If you do not have a dog you will need to reserve a Pro Dog Handler $150/half day for 1 to 2 hunters; additional hunters are charged $50 each. For more information click here.

Should we tip our guide/dog handler?
Absolutely…if your dog and handler team do a great job for you it’s always appropriate to reward their hard work with a generous tip!
What is your youth policy?
Youth hunters under the age of 18 who have passed their Hunter Safety Course and are fully licensed are welcome at Woodland’s Hunt Club under the supervision of a hunting party adult.
Can you accommodate hunters with special needs?
We will make every effort to accommodate all hunters with disabilities or special needs. Please make us aware of these situations when you book your hunt date.
